Why does the steering wheel vibrate at speeds of 80–100 km/h?

I’d like to ask those who know about suspension and steering systems. If the steering wheel starts vibrating at a certain speed, such as 80–100 km/h, is it usually caused by wheel balancing, wheel alignment, or another component? Should I have the entire suspension system inspected right away, or is it better to start with the simplest checks first?

In my opinion, if the steering wheel only vibrates at a certain speed, especially around 80–100 km/h, I'd start with wheel balancing first. That's usually the most common and simplest thing to check. Wheel alignment is more related to the car pulling to one side or uneven tire wear, rather than vibration at a specific speed. If balancing doesn't solve it, I'd check the tires for uneven wear, bent rims, and then suspension components like tie rods, ball joints, and bushings. I wouldn't immediately inspect or replace the entire suspension system. Better to start with the basic checks and work your way up. It could save quite a bit of money.
